World News Today was (and is still) a current affairs news programme produced by BBC News. It was originally conceived as a morning television show aimed at American audiences, hosted by George Alagiah, but later expanded to 6 editions a day aimed at different markets.
Originally, it used the same music and graphics of BBC World. But when The World simulcast on both BBC World and BBC Four, was replaced by an edition of World News Today, all editions began to use own set of music and graphics. Since April 2008, it follows the intro sequences that BBC's English Regions uses for their bulletins on BBC One, but with World News Today themes. Wiki info
